The University of Toledo College of Medicine, Department of Neurology seeks faculty candidates to establish, grow and lead clinical research efforts in the areas of behavioral neurology/neurodegenerative disorders. Responsibilities of the successful candidate will include evaluation and management of patients with dementia in outpatient and inpatient settings, as well as training medical students, neurology residents and fellows, both in clinical and didactic settings.  Research or scholarship responsibilities will include obtaining research support and development of studies related to neurodegenerative diseases with opportunities for clinical, translational and basic science research.

Qualifications:

  1. MD, Ph.D. and/or M.D./D.O. degree with expertise in neurodegenerative disorders as well as training and track record of research and scholarship in this field. Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and medical student education. Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills allowing the pursuit of independent research, publications, and teaching while collaborating with colleagues. The successful candidate should aim for and maintain an extramurally funded research program.

The position is associated with faculty salary support from UT COM and its practice plan. Collaboration within the Department of Neurology and with Neurosciences as well as extramural projects are encouraged. Joint appointment in Departments of Neurology and Neuroscience is available.  

Assistant or Associate Professor Rank commensurate with experience. Applicants should be board eligible or board certified in Neurology, with fellowship training preferred.
