Job Details

The University of Utah Department of Neurology is recruiting two academic neurologists with fellowship training in Movement Disorders, including the position of Director of the neuromodulation program within the Movement Disorders Division.

Our multidisciplinary program is the major site for referral of complex patients with movement disorders in our multi-state area. The Movement Disorders clinic includes neuromodulation (DBS and MRgFUS) and botulinum toxin injection clinics, a Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) Center of Excellence and a CurePSP Center of Care. Opportunities exist to work in a variety of additional subspecialty clinic areas including ataxia, neurogenetics, autoimmune movement disorders, autonomic dysfunction clinic and laboratory, and cognitive disorders.

Candidates interested in a wide spectrum of movement disorders and procedures, as well as candidates committed to developing a neuromodulation clinical and research program are encouraged to apply.

The individuals recruited would develop a clinical program, interact with trainees, and have the opportunity to participate in the neurology inpatient/consult service, telemedicine and outreach clinics. Opportunities also exist to pursue a joint appointment with our Veterans Affairs Hospital.

Development of an active translational research program is encouraged in candidates interested in a career as clinician-scientists. Research within the division is highly-collaborative and well-funded, and ranges from basic science to clinical trials.

Nestled along the Wasatch Mountain Range, our Salt Lake City location offers incomparable work-life balance through every season.
