The Department of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) was established in 1973.  It has a long-standing history and tradition in the practice and advancement of Clinical Neurosciences by providing the most comprehensive care to patients with neurologic illnesses from Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, brain tumors, Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune disorders, stroke as well as other acute neurologic injuries.  The department also has a robust laboratory research program that is particularly focused at advancing our knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders.  In addition, UTMB has a highly regarded fully-accredited neurology residency training program.

 

Neurointensivist - About the position

The Department of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, Texas, seeks a Neurointensivist at the Assistant Professor level to be part of a well-established Neurology Department and Multidisciplinary Neurosciences Critical Care Program. 

The ideal candidate should have an MD or equivalent and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology and fellowship training in neurologic critical care.  The ideal candidate will help enhance a multidisciplinary approach to the care of critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients and those requiring neuro-interventional procedures, be involved in the instruction of fellows, residents and medical students and participate in scholarly activities. 

 

Income Package:  A negotiable starting salary is based upon experience and educational background with potential incentives.  Superior benefits, retirement program, relocation and additional incentives are also offered.
